Ayden's dream is a record breaker
19/06/07A Leicester man with a learning disability had his dream come true this week when he took part in a successful world record attempt for the 'record number of Ferraris on a race track' at Silverstone racecourse.
Ayden Johnson, who lives in Glenfield, is supported by a not-for-profit organisation called Dimensions. Dimensions recently ran a competition for the people it supports to make 50 of their dreams come true. Ayden's dream, to have a drive in a Ferrari, was a winning dream. This week his dream came true, when he got to ride in a Ferrari and take part in the world record attempt. The world record was smashed as 385 Ferraris took to the track and has been confirmed by the Guinness Book of Records.
Rachel Graham, Regional Director of Dimensions, said:
"The dream competition is about showing that people with learning difficulties have the same dreams and aspirations as everybody else, but that they don't always have the money or support to be able to fulfil them. We hope it will encourage people to realise that we all have dreams, and that people with learning difficulties are no different.
"We're thrilled that Ayden's dream came true in such record-breaking circumstances!"
